How to Configure AOL for DSL
It's not difficult to use TotaLink to access your AOL account --
and AOL will knock your bill down to $9.95 a month if you use
TotaLink as your ISP. Of course, you have to notify them or they
won't change your billing.
1.) Open the AOL dialer so that you see the Welcome
screen. 2.) Click the Setup button. 3.) Click Create
Location. 4.) In the Location field, delete New Locality. 5.)
Type TotaLink. 6.) In the field labeled Network on the left,
click the down arrow and click TCP/IP. 7.) Click Save. 8.)
Click OK. 9.) When you want to sign on to America Online, first
dial into TotaLink using the Internet Dialer. 10.) Once you have
connected to TotaLink, minimize the dialer window, open AOL and sign
on.
Go to keyword "billing" and change your account to the $9.95
option in which you bring your own access. We recommend that you
also CALL AOL and verify your billing change. Yes, we know that
you'll probably spend some time on hold. In our experience, you
should do it anyway if you want to be
sure.
